Boosting Local Dining Through Community Support

Learn how WingBeerSpecials.com connects wing and beer enthusiasts with neighborhood favourites, supports local businesses, and fosters a vibrant community through great deals and connections.
Q&A with Paul Prudente and Ray Anderson: The Founders of WingBeerSpecials.com
Q: What inspired the creation of WingBeerSpecials.com?
Paul: This is a project I've been mulling over for the last 8 years, and it really comes from a desire to know what days of the week restaurants or bars had their chicken wing specials or their happy hours. We would fumble through countless websites to try to find this information out and in the end would forget about it when that craving for wings came up. In some instances, we would go for wings or beer only to find out that it was the wrong day for their specials or that the special didn't exist anymore. So, we set out to find those deals and organize those specials by day of the week and by city. Our goal is to build a community of wing and beer enthusiasts, like us, who not only love discovering new flavours but also want to support local businesses. We want to create a platform where people could find great deals while contributing to their neighborhood spots.
Q: We love your logo! To us, it really captures the essence of your business. Can you tell us more about the design and how the chicken wing and pint of beer represent WingBeerSpecials.com?
Paul: Thanks! We wanted our logo to be more than just a visual—it’s a reflection of who we are as founders and the community we’re serving. The chicken wing, affectionately named Wing-Wing, represents the playful, fun side of our brand. Everyone loves wings, and Wing-Wing embodies the joy and comfort of sharing a great meal. The pint of beer, named Hops, stands for the camaraderie and social aspect of what we do. Beer brings people together, just like our platform connects wing and beer enthusiasts with the best deals. Together, Wing-Wing and Hops capture what WingBeerSpecials.com is all about—good food, good drinks, and a great time with friends. We want our logo to be approachable, fun, and inviting, just like the experience we offer.
Q: That sounds like fun! So, who’s Wing-Wing and who’s Hops between you two?
Ray: It’s fun! Yes, the logo really reflects our personalities. Paul is definitely Wing-Wing. He’s got that playful, energetic vibe, and a deep love for wings. I’m Hops—the laid-back, social guy who enjoys a good beer with friends. Just like Wing-Wing and Hops, we complement each other and bring different strengths to WingBeerSpecials.com.
Q: How does WingBeerSpecials.com benefit local restaurants and bars?
Paul: When local restaurants and bars list their specials on our site, they gain visibility among eager locals who are looking for the best deals. It's a targeted audience that caters to restaurants and bars. Customers have a tendency to have loyalty to an establishment that offer value along with good food and service. This drives more foot traffic to their businesses and helps them stay open and thriving. Not only does the site cater to locals looking for a great deal, it also helps visitors, either on a trip or just from the next town over, plan ahead and get the inside word on a city's hidden gems. It's a win-win for both the businesses and the community.
Q: How does the community aspect tie into WingBeerSpecials.com?
Ray: WingBeerSpecials.com is more than just a site for deals—it’s a community of food lovers celebrating the joy of local dining. Our site helps people discover hidden treasures that might otherwise go unnoticed. We get special recommendations from people through email or our site, which we wouldn’t have known about. The feedback has been fantastic, and we’re focused on listening to our community as we grow. We want to make the site more interactive and engaging in the future, ensuring every click supports local spots and keeps them serving the community.
Q: What’s the long-term vision for WingBeerSpecials.com?
Paul: We aim to expand across North America, featuring specials in every city. We want to be the go-to platform for wing, beer, and happy hour lovers, with advanced features like personalized recommendations, real-time deal alerts, and mobile app integration. We can even see AI and data analytics playing a role in creating tailored experiences while providing businesses with valuable insights.
